The remarkable Langtang-Gosaikunda-Trek associates the beauty of mountain sceneries and the joy of meeting the Tamang and Sherpa’s community, whose kind heartedness and hospitality are very famous. Cuddled at the lap of splendid Ganesh Himal and Langtang Lirung ranges, to the north of Kathmandu, is an amazing sheltered valley full of nature’s reward-the Langtang National Park, that houses the intact freshwater Gosaikunda Lake. This park houses the red pandas, thick rhododendron forests are less recurrent compared to others and will attract mountain lovers to get to this off the beaten track. The absolute trekking season to Gosaikunda is from February to June and September to December.
You might witness occasional snowfall in the months of November, December, and January, and Mid-February. The 15-16 days of Langtang-Gosaikunda-Trek itinerary will begin with a drive along the Trishuli River that travels from Kathmandu to Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche prior to reaching Syabrubesi. The will start at Syabrubesi, a Tamang settlement on the banks of the Bhote Koshi River. You will then return to the hotel and carry on your hike with the amazing Langtang Valley to Gosaikunda, a holy Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage site. Hence, you must trek from a hotel booked by agency to Thulo Syabru, then from Thulo Syabru to Shin Gompa, and finally to Gosaikunda to Ghopte in the beautiful Helambu location which passes across the Laurebina La High Pass.
You will cross by rhododendron, pine, juniper, and calm meadows as you make your way down to Kutumsang from Ghopte. You will continue descending the next day in order to travel vai Pati Bhanjyang to arrive at Chisapani. You will trek from Chisapani to Sundarijal on the final day of the Langtang and Gosaikunda Trek excursion prior to boarding a bus to return to Kathmandu. The best time for Langtang-Gosaikunda-Trek
The weather is the important component to consider for a trek to Langtang-Gosaikunda-Trek. Spring and autumn are the most favorable seasons for a simple trek with amazing peak vistas. At the time of winter, the trek areas are cold because of snowfall, while during the summer monsoon makes the trails slippery and wet.
January–February
This is the coldest season, significantly from early January to early February. There is heavy snowfall on the mountain since the temperature dips. Daytime will be warm and adorable with clear skies but the night is cold. Trek will be a little demanding nonetheless, you will acquire magical vistas of snow-capped hills and peaks.
March–April
It is one the best times to trek to the Langtang and Gosaikunda. The weather is very favorable, and you can get amazing vistas of the Langtang Lirung, Langtang II, and other peaks. Temperature begins rising from Mid-March, and a lot of trekkers select to trek to the Langtang Gosaikunda region at this time. The luscious green, thick bamboo, and birch forest add a fresh dimension to the entire trek experience.
May–June
This is also an excellent period for trekking, right before the monsoon. Rainfall in Nepal starts from the end of June till Mid-August. The spring-summer season makes the trek music more amusing.
September–October
It is another excellent season for the Langtang-Gosaikunda-Trek. As the monsoon gradually ends, an excellent trekking climate begins. The temperature goes up to 20 degrees at the day time and falls to 5 degrees during night. Most tekkers enjoy trekking the most during these months since the skies are clear, letting great vistas of the peaks. We highly recommend this time of the Langtang Valley Trek, significantly between Mid to end of September. Nepal’s two biggest festivals –Dashain and Tihar – are also celebrated in these months.
